EIAgen anti Gliadin IgA

brief description

Gliadin is a class of glutamine containing, alcohol soluble proteins, separable from wheat and rye gluten. They are known as prolamins. These proteins are associated with the harmful effects of celiac disease and gluten sensitive enteropathy in humans. The proteins cause characteristic changes in the small intestinal mucosa. If patients are placed on a strictly gluten free diet, the symptoms of the disease can be avoided. Serum antibodies to gliadin have been closely associated with celiac disease. Antibodies of the IgG and IgA class have been implicated in celiac disease.

intended use

The EIAgen Anti-Gliadin IgA kit is a rapid ELISA method for the detection of serum antibodies to gliadin, one of the principal components of wheat gluten.
