EIAgen Toxoplasma IgM kit
analyte
Toxoplasma
brief description
Toxoplasma gondii is a ubiquitous protozoa which causes infection in all mammalian species. In man, serological studies have shown that a high percentage of the adult population has been infected by this parasite. The disease is particularly dangerous in immunodepressed patients during pregnancy, as it is transmitted from mother to foetus. For this reason it is important to determine the antibody titer before the beginning of pregnancy if possible; those subjects who do not present immunity should be followed up with frequent analyses to check for serum conversion.
intended use
Immunoenzymatic capture method for the determination of IgM-class antibodies against Toxoplasma Gondii in human serum
